About the Organization

PHD Family Welfare Foundation was set up by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry 40 years ago in 1986 as a charitable trust. The prime reason for establishing this foundation was to reach out to the needy and fulfill the social commitments of PHDCCI towards the upliftment of society.

The main focus areas of the Foundation include: health care, skill development training, education, support & care for specially-abled people, sanitation facilities for girls in schools, rehabilitation & relief during natural calamities, and self-defence training for women. The foundation also supports 100 orphanages and several old age homes in Delhi NCR by providing free health care and basic needs.

Key Highlights

Skill Development

PHDFWF operates 27 skill development centers, with 16 in Delhi and 11 in tribal areas across India. Over 57,000 individuals have been trained in various skills, becoming self-sufficient (Atma Nirbhar). Currently, about 6,000 students study in these centers daily.

Health Care

The foundation runs 12 mobile medical vans that treat around 1,000 patients daily in rural and resettlement areas. So far, approximately 18.7 lakh patients have been treated.

During COVID-19

  • Organized free health checkups for underprivileged and abandoned children in child care institutions.
  • Distributed food packets to about 95,000 migrant labourers and needy families.
  • Donated 12 oxygen generation plants to charitable and government hospitals.
  • Supported 60 widowed women with rations and skills training for 6 months, making them self-sufficient.

Education

The foundation provides remedial classes for primary and senior students (classes 9–12) in subjects like English, Maths, and Science. Over 10,000 students have benefited from these programs.

Summer/Winter Camps

PHDFWF organizes free one-month camps offering various activities and free health checkups for primary school children.

Geographical Area of Operation

PHDFWF operates in Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Assam, Odisha, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and other regions during national calamities.

Vision

To develop deprived communities and provide quality social welfare services by strengthening education, health, and skills with a special focus on women and youth empowerment for sustainable development with dignity.

Objectives of the Foundation

  • To prepare and execute programs on family welfare, including family planning, health care, and skill development.
  • To collaborate on programs for the social and economic welfare of the population.
  • To organize educational and training events like seminars, workshops, and conferences.
  • To motivate youth involvement in welfare programs.
  • To receive grants from government, semi-government, public or international bodies.

Chairperson Message

Anuradha Goel is an active philanthropist involved in social welfare activities for the last 40 years. Ms Goel is currently working as the Chairperson of the PHD Family Welfare Foundation and PHD Chamber’s Women and Child Development Committee directing public welfare programs which include medical care, health awareness, water conservation schemes, skill development and income generation in low income areas.

Ms Goel is President and founding member of St Stephen’s Hospital Patients Welfare Society, instrumental in raising funds and treatment for over 12000 juveniles. President Kiwanis Club of New Delhi involving herself in the implementation of educational income generation programs for women from resettlement areas for more than 20 years. She is also a member of Delhi Social Welfare Board, Vice chairperson of SCWEC India (SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneur Council) and Governing Body Member of Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra and Shriram Centre for Performing Arts.
