PHD FAMILY WELFARE FOUNDATION

PHD Family Welfare Foundation (PHDFWF) set up by the PHD Chamber of Commerce &
Industry as a non-profit organization in 1986. Since its inception PHDFWF has been actively
engaged in executing community development projects for the underprivileged people living
in resettlement colonies and rural areas with a sharp focus on health and family welfare, skill
development training programme, mobile medical van, sanitation facilities for girls in village
schools, target intervention on prevention of STD/HIV/AIDS, polio eradication, support & care
for people living with special abilities, serving migrants and rural poor during covid-19,
supporting orphanages by providing free health camp and monthly ration and distributing
nutritional food, distributing KN95 and cotton masks, providing self-defence training for poor
youth, awareness generation on health & social issues etc. Through its Mobile medical vans
and skill development training centers and health care facilities PHDFWF has benefitted lakhs
of beneficiaries living in resettlement colonies and remote areas.

 

 

PHD Family Welfare Foundation with its resolute and tireless staff left no stone unturned in
serving the society during these crucial times. In 2020-2021 during first wave of Covid-19
PHDFWF had distributed 3292 food packets to the migrant labourers, FWF skill development
unit beneficiaries, Mobile Medical health check-up camp beneficiaries, artists, HIV High Risk
Groups and rural poor’s living in resettlement colonies of Delhi / NCR. PHDFWF also distributed
energy drinks, sanitary napkins, cotton masks and face shields to the mentioned beneficiaries
and Police and Government Hospitals.
In FY 2021-2022 during the unprecedented second wave of covid-19, PHDFWF came forward
as a frontline worker and continued its service towards the society through distribution of dry
food packets for migrant labourers and Nutritional food packets for abandoned and destitute

 

PHD CHAMBER’S FAMILY WELFARE FOUNDATION ORGANIZED INAUGURATION OF THE
INSTALLATION OF THE FIRST OXYGEN GENERATION PLANT IN MEDICHEK HOSPITAL,
FARIDBAD

 

PHD Chamber's Family Welfare Foundation organized inauguration of the installation of the first
Oxygen Generation Plant donated to Medichek Hospital, Faridbad on 30 th June, 2021 to fight against
possibility of third wave of Covid 19. Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Social
Justice and Empowerment, GOI was the Chief Guest of the program. Shri Sanjay Aggarwal, President,
PHDCCI, Rtn. Dharmesh Mehta, President, Rotary Club OF Delhi South Central, Shri Mukesh Aggarwal,
Director, Shivalik Group, Shri Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary General, PHDCCI, Dr.  Sumit Verma, Director,
Medicheck Group of Hospital, Faridabad, Sr. officials from PHDFWF & PHDCCI among others were
present on the occasion. PHDCCI & PHDFWF have already ordered 9 more oxygen plants to be
distributed to charity hospitals in Delhi/NCR & other parts of India.

PHDFWF ORGANIZED FREE DISTRIBUTION OF DRY FOOD PACKETS

PHDFWF ORGANISED FREE HEALTH CHECK UP CAMPS FOR DESTITUTE CHILDREN IN
GOVT. RUN INSTITUTIONS

 

PHDFWF is conducting free health check-up camps for children in 100 homes for abandoned and
destitute children run by the Women and Child committee of the Delhi government. Till 29 th June, 2021,
we have organized free health check-up camps benefitting around more than 1100 destitute children in
16 Child Care Institutions.

 

 

PHDFWF SUPPORTING 11 ORPHANGES WITH 3 MONTHS RATION AND OTHER
NECESSARY ITEMS

 

PHDFWF started distributing monthly ration, grocery items along with necessary items required by 11
non-Government orphanage homes for the next 3 months with support from Rotary Club of Delhi
Premier. Apart from monthly rations, face shield, Sanitizers, KN95 face masks, sanitary items such as
Sanitary Napkins, diapers, undergarments, clothes, slippers, shoes, bedsheets with pillow covers, towels,
toiletries, etc are also distributed to the orphanages as per the requirements received.

 

PHDFWF SUPPORTING 45 FAMILIES WHO LOST THEIR ONLY BREAD EARNERS IN COVID
AND OTHERWISE

PHDFWF teachers identified women in resettlement areas (where PHDFWF has a Skill Development
unit) who have lost their earning member due to COVID or otherwise. We have arranged for donors to
support the basic food expenses of these women for 4 to 6 months while they learn a skill at one of
FWF centres. Once they are skilled, they will be able to earn a living for their families. This will
reinstate the family and make it self-sufficient.

PHDFWF ORGANIZED TIKA UTSAV AWARENESS PROGRAMME

PHDFWF organized a Tika Utsav awareness campaign from 11 th  April to 14 th  April, 2021 in Assam,
Odisha villages of Gurugram and Rajasthan & FWF skill development centre's in Delhi/ NCR. The
experts educated our beneficiaries and other individuals to strictly follow all medical measures for
COVID -19 and also encouraged everyone to get them vaccinated for their own safety.

 

 

PHDFWF ORGANIZED FREE DISTRIBUTION OF KN95 MASKS

 

PHDFWF has also distributed more than 25,000 KN95 masks and 8000 cotton masks to Delhi and
Haryana Police, government hospitals in different parts of India, frontline workers, beneficiaries from
skill centre units and beneficiaries of mobile medical vans.

Keeping in mind the necessity of face mask in
Covid-19 times, trainers and trainees of the
centers are making cotton mask for the
beneficiaries who were attending the classes
and also distributing to the migrants during
distribution of dry food and during regular
health check up camps.

 

 

PHDFWF’S WOMEN & CHILD COMMITTEE – 6TH ASTITVA SAMMAN WOMEN AND
5TH JUNIOR SAMMAN 2021

 

 

PHD Family Welfare Foundation’s Women & Child Committee virtually organized its 6th Women
Astitva Samman and 5th Junior Astitva Samman 2021 on 12 th  February, 2021. The Chief Guest of the
programme Shri Ram Mohan Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development GOI.
The 6th Women Astitva Samman were given to Amul in the Corporate category, Trained Nurses’
Association of India (TNAI) in the government category, Nirmal Bhartiya School in the educational
institute category, Kairali, in the MSME category and Study Hall Educational Foundation (SHEF) in
the NGO category. The 5th Junior Astitva Samman were given to Apeejay School, Noida, Modern
School, Vasant Vihar and Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park.

 

PHDFWF CELEBRATES VIRTUAL INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY WITH ASTITVA
SAMMAN AWARDEES

PHD Family Welfare Foundation and Women and Child Committee organized a webinar on
‘Celebration of International Women's Day’ on 05th March, 2021. Ms. Anuradha Goel, Chairperson,
PHDFWF welcomed all the The keynote speakers for the program were
previously Women Astitva Samman awardees – Ms. Deepikka Jindal, Ms. Kavitha Chandran, Ms. Nitu
Bhattacharya, Ms. Rama Kirloskar and Ms. Pooja Jhaver. On the occasion of International Women’s day,
to celebrate the spirit of woman, PHD Family welfare is took the initiative of organising a one-week
health check-up camps in different specialties for women and children in resettlement areas of
Delhi/NCR. Free distribution of sanitary pads to girls and women will also be undertaken.

 

CELEBRATION OF ‘7TH INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY ‘BY PHDCCI AND PHD FAMILY WELFARE
FOUNDATION

 

PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry and PHD Family Welfare Foundation celebrated ‘7th
International Yoga Day on 21 st  June, 2021 on virtual platform by conducting two sessions. In the first
virtual session , trainer from Patanjali demonstrated various asanas, such as Surya namaskar, Setu
Bandha Sarvangasana, Savasana, pranayama etc.. In the second session, speaking about Yoga, Dr Bedi
highlights, its ancient rich past in the Indian civilisation, the rules of performing yoga, yoga diet and its
significance in the current scenario of the COVID-19 pandemic. Shri Pradeep Multani, Sr. Vice
President, PHDCCI, Shri Saket Dalmia, Vice President, PHDCCI, Ms. Shovana Narayan, Padmashree
awardee Kathak Guru, Ms Suneeta Trivedi, Secretary (IPS Retired), GOI, and Ms. Priya Hingorani, Sr
Advocate, Supreme court of India shared their stories and experience regarding the contribution of
yoga in enriching their lives

PHDFWF’s mobile healthcare programs in Delhi NCR and its nearby areas are providing free
healthcare services to underprivileged and needy communities. These medical camps provide free
medical advice, medicine to the unfortunate people and refer for specialized treatment or surgery
whenever it is required. On the spot investigations like blood test, Sugar Test, ECG etc. are conducted
at the camp. These camps make sure people are getting the healthcare at the right time, and seeing the
doctor early enough before a small health problem turns serious. Currently, PHDFWF is successively
running 5 Mobile medical vans with support from donors such as Jaquar, Seth Madanlal Palriwala
Foundation. In the year 2020-21, Mobile medical vans have benefited more than one lakh people.

 

 

Skills development is an essential element in improving the employability and potential productivity
of the poor youth and women and can be an important tool for reducing poverty and enhancing
competitiveness. PHD Family Welfare Foundation gives special focus on empowering women and
youth through skill building training program for the betterment of their economic independence.
Presently, PHDFWF is successively running 14 skill development centres in Delhi NCR region and
Assam . Various skill enhancement courses such as tailoring and embroidery, computer education,
nursing assistance, beauty culture & mehendi art, cooking, mobile repairing retail management and
health care attendant are provided at these centres. With the lockdown measures being stringent due
to the COVID-19 pandemic , PHDFWF conducted online classes through zoom , for its beneficiaries.
The virtual medium was extremely beneficial for all the beneficiaries in the completion of their
courses.
